Abstract

We present a contrastive study of the lexical and semantic field of memory in Bulgarian and Ukrainian based on material from a parallel bilingual corpus. The correspondences between several principal roots from which the lexemes of this field are formed, the word-formation patterns and their frequencies are examined, and the most frequent collocations are analysed. We also look into some aspects of translation strategies.
