Abstract

The article briefly describes the database “Bulgarian cultural and historical heritage under the protection of UNESCO” and its realization through web based application. The web application follows the approach Understanding by Design , a modern pedagogical strategy aiming presentation of additional learning content. The web based application provides additional content in a multimedia environment that encourages the learners to manipulate information and learn through specific experiences upon research. The database and its realization – a web application as a knowledge-based tool for e-learning, were designed and developed in IMI (BAS).
